    The journey to Achuar territory and the Kapawi Ecolodge & Reserve is an important component of your Kapawi experience. Located in the most remote part of the Ecuadorian Amazon, a ten-day's walk from the nearest road, Kapawi Ecolodge is about as far from what we know as "civilization" as one can get on our planet. And the only way to enter, flying low in a small airplane over the tropical rainforest, provides you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the majesty and scale of the Amazon rainforest. Seeing the vastness of the sea of green from the air is a breathtaking experience, and for many is a life-changing event. This remoteness can also add complexity to the travel arrangements as the weather spirits of the rainforest can be fickle in deciding when to allow our airplanes to enter. Flexibility can be required. But rest assured, we will embrace you in Achuar hospitality and make your journey to Kapawi as easy and rewarding as possible. |
